Call White House or WRite to the President

President Joe Biden says that Pakistan may be the most dangerous country in the world, referring to its nuclear bombs. He made this comment while addressing a Democratic congressional campaign committee reception in California on October 13, 2022.

Pakistan’s government and the opposition, in response, have spoken out in unison to criticize President Biden’s statement. However, as Pakistani Americans it is critical for us to speak up to counter the talking points given to the President perhaps by his Indian American speechwriter to please the Indian lobby. Silence is not an option.

ACTION REQUESTED

  1. Call President Biden 1-202-456-1111 to protest.

  2. Visit https://www.whitehouse.gov/contact to write him a message.

  3. Post it on your social media

  4. Join the twitter storm on Noon-2 PM EST, Thursday Oct 20. Tweet to @POTUS Use hashtags #Pakistan #Democrats #DNC

TALKING POINTS

(It is best to put these in your words)

  • Mention your name and that you are a Pakistani-American voter of President Joe Biden.

  • Say you are surprised that he is calling Pakistan the most dangerous country in the world in the midst of the Russian invasion of Ukraine

  • Pakistan’s nuclear assets, according to the prestigious Washington, DC-based Nuclear Threat Initiative (NTI) are safer than those of three other countries including India, although it is behind Australia, which has better security in place than the US itself. The Federation of American Scientists has also shown concern about India accidentally launching a Russian-Indian developed missile which landed in Pakistan, showing the weaknesses of its security system.

  • The timing of the President’s comments cannot be worse. What message is he giving to Pakistani-Americans just before the primaries?

  • I request the President to publicly correct his statement and speak in support of Pakistan for facing its climate-induced disastrous floods
